The Multi-Engine Piston (MEP) Class Rating qualifies pilots to operate multi-engine piston aircraft, introducing asymmetric flight, engine-out procedures, and higher-performance aircraft handling.

At Multifly, MEP training is conducted in accordance with EASA Part-FCL requirements within an airport-based operational environment. Training is delivered using the academy’s in-house multi-engine aircraft and can be completed as a standalone rating or as a core component of a modular pathway toward IR, CPL, and ATPL.

Minimum Entry Requirements

To enroll in the MEP Class Rating Training Program, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

License requirement: Valid EASA PPL(A)

Medical certificate: EASA Class 1 or Class 2 Medical Certificate

Flight experience: Sufficient flight experience to safely commence multi-engine training (exact requirements evaluated during admissions)

English proficiency: Sufficient English for flight training and radio communication

At Multifly, Multi-Engine Piston training is conducted on the Cessna 310, a high-performance, conventional multi-engine aircraft widely recognized for its operational realism.

Compared to light twin trainers commonly used for initial multi-engine instruction, the Cessna 310 features more pronounced asymmetric thrust characteristics, higher inertia, and greater performance margins. This provides students with a deeper understanding of engine-out procedures, energy management, and real-world multi-engine handling.
