The Aim of the Course

To provide the trainee with a sound theoretical knowledge of Multi Engine Piston aircraft operation and to teach the skills necessary for the safe and competent operation of such aircraft in order to pass the License Skill Test.

Flight Training

The MEP Class Rating flight training contains a total of: 6 hours of flight training in a MEP class of aircraft which includes 2 hours 30 minutes of dual instruction under normal conditions, and 3 hours 30 minutes of dual instruction in engine failure procedures and asymmetric flight techniques 1 hour License Skill Test (LST) in a MEP class of aircraft

Theoretical Training

The ground-training allows the trainee to gain a thorough understanding of the operation including function of the abnormal and emergency operation of all aircraft systems. The training includes systems essential to the operation of the aircraft. In accordance with FCL725.A, the theoretical course consists of 7 hours of TKI in multi engine aeroplanes.
The TKI course consists of the following:
I. Two 3 hour lectures; and
II. A single 1 hour lecture
A more detailed description of the content of the theoretical knowledge training is described in the TKI section of this part.
Theoretical knowledge will be checked by practical application during the flight training and verbal questioning from the instructor on procedures and rules pertinent to operating a MEP class of aircraft.
Theoretical knowledge examinations: Trainees for a MEP Class Rating shall sit a multiple choice written examination on completion of the course. The examination pass mark is 75%. Candidates who are exempt flight training are still required to pass the theoretical examination to add a MEP Class Rating to an EASA License. Once all TKI is complete the instructor will recommend the trainee to sit the TKE paper.

Time Scale

The MEP Class Rating course will be conducted either full-time or part-time to suit candidate requirements.

Full-time courses will operate 5 days a week from 9:00 to 17:30 or later, if required. The course is expected to take a minimum of 3.5 days (including LST) but is subject to weather.

Part-time course are expected to take a minimum of 6 working days and maximum of 8 working days.

Training Aircrafts

Multi engine training held by C310, C402 and Navajo.
These aircrafts are widely used for charter flights in the world.
Comparing with an average ME training aircraft they have higher cruise speed, over 500-600 HP and more MTOW which makes them similar with smaller commercial jets.
Students of Multifly can feel themselves in a real commercial aircraft and be more familiar for their future airliner aircrafts and putting them a step forward than other candidates during an airline training.
Based on the feedbacks of different airlines, those students who are trained with these aircrafts getting familiar faster with business and commercial jets.
Operating these aircrafts for operators are more challenging and complicated, but Multifly believes this experience will be highly beneficial in student’s future carrier!
